December Circle Challange

Here is my December entry for the Circle Monthly Challange. Also gets to double as a Christmas Present. I bought a wood frame at Michaels, painted it white, covered with some DCWV paper. I cut the phrase and Butterfly from Accent Essentials, I also think the frame around the photo came from here too. I modge podged it all on, added another butterfly my dtr found, some home made and I am roses, that I glimmermisted with Red Velvet. And POOF, a christmas present done. Working on another one that is green. I met the requirements for this challange by using red, and ribbon, minimum of 2 cuts and a phrase. I edited to add revised photo, forgot to place tag in photo.

Paper Roses

I told my grandmother I would make her a gift for her Christmas Party she is attending.  They always do a gift exchange.  I bought 3 different boxes to put this in, and none of them fit, without squishing my roses.  I don't have it pictured but I ended up modge poding paper to a priorty mail box and making my own lid and now I have a box that is to big, but it will work, and I recycled.  Here are the roses, I did remember to glue them down this time.  They are all made from music paper and added some little bows. Think it should be a big hit.   Thanks for looking.

Whimiscal Wednesday Challange

Ok here is my last Challange entry for this weekend.  This challange was posted on http://www.alwayscrafting.com/  The challange was for anything goes.  I am using this adorable digi stamp I bought last week from whimsey doodles.  The snowgirl is so cute.  I also bought the pair of snowcouple holding hands.  My dtr colored that one for her entry for this challange.  See hers at http://www.catscreativeblog.blogspot.com/      So I printed the image and colored with my copics and used some dcwc christmas paper on a 4 x 5.5 in card.  Also cut a snowflake from Noel Cartridge at 3 inches.  Thanks for looking.

2 new challanges

Well I really wanted to work on doing some challanges this weekend. And I hope it is ok, but I combined 2 of the challanges. There challange was to make a snowman from Winter Frolick, unfortunetly I don't have that cartridge, So I used my black friday purchase Jolly Holidays. I added ear muffs so he looked more like the winter frolick snowman. I am submitting this on a new blog called "Flaunt It Fridays" has started and I think this was there first challange. They also had a great blog hop this weekend if you get a chance to look at it.
They are at www.flauntitfridays.blogspot.com

Secondly I have started to subscribe to Cooking with Cricut, Have done one other challange with them, (and my dtr did the last one I did and one a cartridge, YEAH). I have choose layouts with them, figure it is a good way to get some of my loose pictures scrapped. There Challange was "beginning to look like Christmas" they wanted something that commemorated the season. Well I found these pictures of my kids playing in the snow. We were living in Washington State at the time, and they loved it. Thought the new snowmen from Jolly Holidays was perfect for this. Hope you all enjoy.

My snowmen were cut at 3 1/2 and 4 inches.  There arms were very fragile even at this size.  I couldn't cut out layers to hide the faces, so I only cut the one cut and then used stickles to fill in the areas I would have been colored.   Wow I just realized I gave them no buttons on there bellies.  Man I will have to remember to fix.  Oh, well Enjoy.

Peachy Keen "Let's Face It Friday"

Well this is the first time I have entered a Peachy Keen challange.  I am going to try to do one for there Tuesday Challange if I get time tomarrow.  This Challange you had to use a face, Which I used Winter Assortment, (only wintery one I got).  I just punched a 2 in circle and stamped and colored with my copics.  Other Requirment was to use brown paper sack.  Well those things are hard to come by these days of all plastic.  I actually found a Braums sack slid between the cabinet and frig.  After I blue off the dust bunnies, I cut out a tag and also cut up pieces and used my Tim Holtz Alterations Die Cut, Theatered Flowers I believe.  I made these two roses after I glimmer misted them red.  I tried to stamp snowflakes and emboss them but I did not realize that I bought translusent white pearls.  So although it is still neat effect you can't really see the snowflakes well, so I added some snow flake brads.  Look forward to participating in many more challanges with peachy keen.  Hopefully I can win one, so I can have more face stamps.

Crafty Weekend part 2

Next, I was going to buy the new graphic 45 Christmas paper, but wasn't really sure I would use it all. So I opted to just buy the one page with a bunch of tags or whatever they are called. Made a whole series of cards with it. Really liked how they turned out. Most are 5 x7 cards, with exception of a couple. Did add a moose sticker to one, mainly to use up space. He had no face, which I did not like, so thanks to Peachy Keen I gave him a face.

Last and certainly not least. My dear Circle Sister (the scrabooking queen), sent me a package. Lots of good stuff. A whole little bag of charms was so neat, not even sure what to do with them yet. Lots embellishments, which I always love. Even some stuff for my baking biz too, how sweet is that. She even loaned me her Destinations Cartridge, so I could make images for my state notebooks (which aren't getting started until after New Years). I got a package for her to send out also, just can't fit it all in the box, o well may have to send 2.   (OH- Ignore the messy floor, said I was crafting all weekend)

Thanks everyone for looking. Will also be posting my challanges seperately.

Wonderful Crafty Weekend

Well I had the weekend off and managed to do alot of crafting. Working on Christmas cards and gifts. Worked on a couple of challanges that I will make a seperate post about. Hope you enjoy.

First up I bought Twinkle Toes and Inspired Hearts at Walmart for $15.00, could not believe, would have gotten more but my husband wouldn't let me, something about buying food for the kids. (Darn kids, they could go to 1 meal a day). Well I used Inspired Hearts to make a little set of cards, I want to give these to a nice gal who gave my son a ride to the basketball game last week when I had to work. Hopefully I will see her Monday at this weeks game. Really liked how the cards came out, cut most of them at 3 1/2 or 4 inches. They are all on 4 x 5 1/2 cards. Saw the packaging idea on another site (sorry can't remember), but it worked really well and cheaper than buying the clear boxes.

Well I can't seem to get blogger to upload more than 2 pictures- so this will have to be a 2 parter.  Sorry:(

Emma's Throwback Thursday 11/18

When I saw Emma's Challange for a non cricut item, thought this was perfect for my first challange here.  I love my cricut, but needed to make a card for a friend.  So this was perfect timing, for my Mistletoe card.  This digi image is from Kenny K.  I bought 2 of his MRS, images, these are the tame ones.   Love his images, some of them a little more adult than others.  This was fun to practice some more with my copics, but man cutting out was time consuming.  Also used a stamp from clear stamps and paper is from DCWV. Thanks Emma for the Challange and look forward to entering more.  May have more time since she is going to every other week.

Circle Weekly Challange # 8

OK, I only just started scrapbooking, but this has to be my favorite layout ever.   I made this off of the sketch provided by the Cricut Circle Weekly Challange.  Also needed to have vintage feel.  It needed at least 3 elements that said vintage and 2 cricut cuts.   I used my French Manor Cartridge for the cut outs, and used lace, pearls, metal embelishments.  I am not sure bling is part of vintage, but my dtr is all about BLING.  So it just added so  much. My dtr wants to go to Paris one day, so this is so perfect for her.  Thanks for looking.
I am really feeling the mojo this weekend.  Can't wait to show you all the mini album about my sailor son, I am doing for his grandmother.  It is so much fun.

November Circle Challange

OK, I had an idea for some Presents for family.  I thought I took a picture of both, but accidently deleted.  I already mailed my MIL, but have the version for my SIL.  (Hope she doesn't see this!)  I tweeked a little so I could make for the Circle Challange also.  I used Butterflies from Hannah Montana, and Font is from Storybook (I think).  I cuttlebugged the letters for a little texture.  I used some roses from I am Roses.  You can't tell well, but the leaf that is under the roses is felt.  I could not get this to cut on my cicut, so I cut with paper in the cricut first then used as a template for my felt.    I lvoed this paper all glittery.  I mod podged on to a canvase frame and hung a picture hanger on it.  This has a small mini album on it of 5x 7 photos of my family (while my son was home on leave this summer).  Glad I could participate this month, it was lots of fun and 2 presents out of the way.

cooking with cricket entry

Well I wanted to enter into this challange and could not figure out how.  Found some old pictures and my dtr and I both made layouts.  So here is my layout of my son Alex.  He was so cute back then, and knew how to smile. Used Stretch your Imagination and Joy to the Seasons for my cricut cuts.  Some paper from DCWV.  I have never done scrapbooking before so I am learning all kinds of new stuff around here.  Thanks for looking.

Misc cards

OK, here is my attempt to catch up on some projects done lately.  I made 40 invites to my grandmothers party.  Great Idea when I started, not so great when I finished.  Also made some Halloween Cards for a friend, loved my new mini monster cartridge.  Also made a BDay card for my grandmother for the new
Circle Blog entry, but didn't get entered in time.  Time flies, well maybe next week!!

My Circle Sister

Ok, well I am really late posting this, better late than never I guess.

I have this great Cricut Circle Sister.  She sent me this box of goodies, and even sent my dtr her own box.  S0 SUPER SWEET!!!  Just love all the goodies, and have so much fun picking goodies out for her.  Makes me think twice when Shopping.  Thanks Theresa!!

My Grandmother's Birthday Present

We recently had a bday party for my grandmother.  I took the pictures and made her an album.  I used the Your Story Cover that I cut the binding off as the cover and then used large mannilla envelopes in the middle.  I did not make tags for these envelopes as I want them for her to place cards in she received.  I also had people write on paper what there first thought of her was and used these for the tags in the end toward the spine.  Still working on my techniques, but pretty happy with how this turned out.  I am on my way to take it to her, sure she will like it.

thanks for sticking with me, I hope to be better about updating this blog.  PS:  sorry about the glare, still learning about photography.  Shana

Cards from this week

Well I took a Hero Arts Card Class at Scrapbook Garden this week.  Had lots of fun, and get to use stamps I don't have.  Stamped a few extra to keep for later use.  Also started working on just goofing around some with different cards.  Love the Create a Critter cartridge, and starting to like Preserve, although I did not think I would.  I kept Give a Hoot from the bundle I bought.  Did not think I would have much use for it, but I love the raccoon.  Have a big cake due for next weekend, so hopefully will post that next week.  Need to get my husband to copy over photos from last week bridal shower cake.  It was my first carved pillows, liked how it turned out.  So stay tuned.

MPS Saturday Challange

I made this card today for My Pink Stampers  Challange.  Had to use pink, green and black together.  Needed to send another card to my mother in law with some more addresses, so was perfect excuse for a card.  MPS is giving away Creative Critters cartridge.  I bought that this week and used it for the challange.  If I can when it, I will give it to Amber at work she only has a couple cartridges.   I love the card, it is too cute.

Forgot to add I did another card this week for my neighbor who had surgery, with some cookies.  I also bought Just Because.  I am loving that cartridge also.

Recent cards and cake

Sorry, haven't posted stuff from the last week.  Just been busy and not feeling so hot.  So I have worked on a couple things this week.  I did a cake for a friend, I cut out the cross base and overlay from the Easter Cricut Cartridge.  It cut really nice on my cricut but I could not get the lacey details off without it falling to pieces.  So I just hand piped some details.
There is a card I made for my parents anniversary, and my nephews birthday.   Also a card I made to seen to my mother in law (silly me forgot to give her the address for her sailor grandson).
Hope you all are having a nice weekend.

pink stamper sunday challange

Well I had to whip a couple cards together so I could participate with My Pink Stamper's Sunday Challange this evening.   I Love PINK and PURPLE!!!  Used some new papers I bought and ribbon from scrapbuck.com.  LOVE that place.  Have a good week everyone, have to work the next three nights, so I will catch up end of the week.

New cards

Here is what I worked on today.  I made thank you cards to mail to Brad, so when he gets care packages he can be polite and thank them.  Not sure I can make him use them, though.

Purple card I made for the Little Paper Shop weekly challange.  This is the first time I have made a card for a challange.  I hope it is worthy of there consideration.  I was pretty happy with it. I love this stamp by Inky Antics.  It is so cute, and of course I had to do the rest of the card in purple.

Hope others will enjoy, I am off to finish decorating cookies.   Shana
