Life of the ScrapBeach Mini Album Swap- April

Well in my effort to join swaps this month, I did a Mini Album Swap.  Now I love to make albums, but sometimes they are difficult enough to do for someone you know, let alone someone you don't.  Now since this is a fellow scrapper, I am sure it will be appreciated for the time and effort, but hopefully she will like it too.  I mailed this last friday, so not sure she has received it yet, but will go ahead and post my photos.  Now if anyone has any pointers, I would appreciate them.  I am no where near the quality that Katherine does, but I am trying to learn from some of her examples.  Bev I hope you can enjoy and make use of the Album.  I used Prima Papers Primarily.   Most of the butterflies came from a K and Company Die cut package and some Recollections.   I used Martha Stewart punch around the pages for those photo mats.  I bought a sizzix die that cut out the envelops, got it for 5.00 (happy dance).  The Bear stamp was new and so darn cute.  Used my lindys to spritz the red and green envelops, lace is from prima.  Any questions please Ask, and pointers welcome.

Thanks for following.  Shana

Color Me Color April at YPP

This was the first month I joined Your Paper Pantry and joined a few swaps, as many of you would notice.  Well I have started to receive my returns in the Swaps.  Color me Color swap you receive a partner that you send items too of the selected color for the month.  Well I had to sign up because April was Purple and Baby Blue.   Well purple is my favorite color and my partner Katie, did not miss that at all.  I have never seen so much yummy purple in one spot.   There was some blue thrown in but I am not complaining and I have many of a many purple projects coming up now.   Yeah!!!!!.    Here are some photos (not doing video yet, maybe my birthday I will get a camera).  Thanks again Katie,  I really do love everything, it was a great mail day!!!

Crafting With Christina Design Team Call

Happy Easter All!!!   Hope everyone had a plesant one and was able to spend time with family rememebering the true meaning of Easter.
A couple days a go Cristina from  announced she was looking for design team members.  I have decided to send her my info for consideration.  We are to make a project for her design team entry.  Well I had a project that I have wanted to make for a while and decided this was as good as time as any.   So here is a gift I am going to give my Friend Deanna. Her son Ty is about a year older than my son, but also in the Navy.  When she postd this picture a while back I knew I would want to make something with it.  So I made a Wall Hanging.

I started out with a wood plaque.  I sprayed it with my Coco Bean Copper Starburts Stain from Lindys Stamp Gang.    I dried this with my heat tool and then modge podged.   Now I will tell you that the modge podge did pick up some of the lindy color.  Not sure if I did not dry enough or this just happens.   Didn't really affect anything since I was sealing with nothing else on it at this time.

I placed my ribbon down and modge podged it, it did cause it to get darker.

I tore my picture around what I wanted and used my Vintage Photo distress stain to edge the picture.   I cut my anchor and My Hero plaque from Cricut, Stand and Salute Cartridge.  ( A must have for any military mom!)   I colored the image Private Peter from Digital Delights.
I modge podged all these pieces down on the back of each one,   then layered modge podge over the top of everything.   I let dry for almost an hour and layered on another coat.    I then added the little Navy Seal from some sticker embelishments I have.

I am use to blinging things up, but didn't think it would go, so the Lindys was a nice substitute because it is shinny.

Now on to part 2.   I had to make a card to go along with the gift.   So here is my card.

This card measures 5 x 7,  I am using an image from The Greeting Farm,  Creepin Crew. She is colored with my copic markers. The sentiment is from Happy Hello from Hero Arts.   All the paper is stuff I have in my scraps, so not sure who it is from.  The blue flower was coordinations paper that I embossed from a sizzix texture plate, then sanded.   The ribbon and the flowers were misted with some gimmer mist.  The flowers and leaves are from I am Roses.  Not sure  you can tell but the flowers are were pressed in versa mark and then I poured a mixture I have of perfect green pearls, clear embossing powder and fine glitter.  Then I took the heat tool to it.  It made it very glittery and shinny.   Couldn't bling up the plaque. but I could the card.  I used a friskars scallop punch for my papers.

I hope you have all lasted thru this with me.   I don't do videos but will try to give more details from now on, on how I did my projects.   I have learned so much from others, that maybe I could show something that could spark an idea for someone else.

Well I am sure my friend Deanna will love her gift,  I hope Christina likes my entry for her design team.   Thanks All!

Surfer Girl

I joined a Copic Coloring Club, this image was our first tutorial on skin.   Used four different colors to color skin and go over 2-3 times with each color. Seems like alot of work, but it sure does look nice.  Love this club, for the price of the markers you get tutorials and contest, lots of info.  Really love it.

Hope you like the picture,  thanks shana

New Website found and Copic Color Swap

Well as I was working on swap stuff overYour Paper Pantry, I wanted to join the Copic Coloring group, because I love my copics.   Well this month was to use a 3d flower.   Well this presented a challange because I have never made 3d flowers, easier to buy I guess.  So I had to find a flower that would work. None of my stamps seem to work and I love digital, so I went on the search.   I found this company called FRED SHE SAID.    Oh my has all kinds of flowers and many done in layers so you can pop them up  easily making them dimentional.  Well I bought way more than I probably should have.   Setteled on this one to make my 3D cards for the swap.   Probably could have made more elaborate.  But I wanted to showcase the flower and my favorite color Purple.   The photo for some reason makes the card base look more blue, but trust me there is alot of purple on this paper.  I also am in a butterfly kick right now, so used my DCWV "mariposa" paper.

Well found out as I was looking at FRED  SHE SAID, they are also doing a design team call.  So what the heck I will send her an email and hopefully she will consider me.   I think it would be great, altough this is my flower stop no matter what.   Hoping to take a copic class in June and this will enhance my shading and depth in my flowers.   There are some great examples on her website also of the flowers.   Hope if you need flowers you will give her a look.  The website is   You can use the images for cutting out also.  Will have to try soon to test my SCAL since I reinstalled it.   Enjoy, I am off to the post office today.

Throwback Thursday

Well I am getting this one in under the wire.   I wanted to participate in the challange at My Creative Time with Emma at  Was finishing up some other swap projects and almost forgot.   So I threw this together.   I say that loosely because still took me an hour to do.  I am trying to scrap my dtr baby photos, with paper from DCWV  "One Upon A Time".   I so love this paper and this sheet was perfect.   I cut the wind whisps with a xacto so I could overlap it a bit.  The bear and other cuts are all from Twinkle Toes.  This is my dtr favorite cartridge.  Love the layout, and thanks to Emma for helping me get a little "tiny" bit closer to finishing this album.

Thanks for looking.   Shana

I joined Your Paper Pantry this past month.  One of the groups I joined to swap in was a mini album page.  Each month you make a mini page, that you mail to hostess, and she joins all the pages together of those in the group and mails it back to you.  Sounded like a lot of fun.  This month was perfect because you had to do a page about you.  Well my 2 sided page ended up being a mini book. But I think for anyone that doesn't know me, they will know alot about me after this.  I choose my "5" jobs in life.  I used primary color of purple, my favorite.  I used my cricut and colored my favorite greeting farm stamps with my favorite markers, Copic.   I had to make 5 for the group, which took me most of 3 days to complete.  I also made an extra one for my Grandmother, because I knew she would love it.

Hope you all will know me a little bit better after seeing my mini me pages.

Thanks for watching.  Shana

YPP greeting cards

Good afternoon everyone.  I joined Your Paper Pantry.ning  this week.   I joined up for a few swaps.  Wanted to get a head start.  May have to make more, but for now I made 4 of each of these cards.  Not sure why I didn't make some for myself.   They turned out really cute.  Hope everyone else likes them.  Wasn't really sure how to start.  This group is the greeting cards.   This month theme was spring and easter.   I received my images from a swap with "the happy stamper"  and oh my these images were perfect.  I sat, colored and watched youtube on my days off this week.  Hope you all can enjoy.   It is georgous here in KS today.  Too bad I slept thru most of it and getting ready to work for the rest of the night.   ENJOY!
PS: Sorry I am not sure who these images are from to give proper credit. I know one is from Magnolia, and I think the girl on the fence is CC designs.  If I were to guess the bunny is Stampin Up.  Sorry not more helpful, but they were fun to color.
