Journal Spots for YPP

This is my first time participating in yourpaperpantry.ning.com jounal spots.   Wasn't exactly sure what I was going to do, but I had to try.  I hope I did everyone justice in this.   We used Butterfly Garden paper by Pink Paisly.   I bought 2 packages so I would have enough for 4 tags.  I am really happy with how these turned out.   I hope everyone else likes them to.   I used different flowers, lace, lots of glossy accents.   I used the pattern papers, they are single sided, I used distress ink on the back so they would be good for pictures or journalling.    Already bought the paper for next month, should be fun it is kitchen stuff, and I love being in the kitchen.   Thanks for looking and appreciate any suggestions.

Grandma's Box

Well I have making stuff like crazy for my grandmother.  She has a couple mini albums already, so I was trying to come up with something different for Mother's day.   So I took the little box I got for a dollar at micheals and glammed it up.  I used Lindy stamp gang to stain the box and then I mod podged diffent pieces of paper from Graphic 45, Transportation line.  Got this paper on clearance and wasn't sure what I was going to do with it.  I used some I am roses and bling that I had.  Really like the way it turned out.  Not sure what she will do with it, but she loved it anyway.   THanks for watching.

Alex frame

I was trying to make a quick mom day gift for my MIL.   I had some extra pictures of my son from basketball season and some extra dollar frames.   Really liked the way it came out.   I stained the wood with Lindy Spray and just hot glued the photos on.  Probably should have mod podged it but I was in a hurry.   I think it turned out well though, pefect for being on a shelf.

Throw Back Thursday Challange

Here is my card for Emma's Throwback Thursday Challange at http://www.creativetimeforme.com/2011/05/throwback-thursday-challenge-wmy-design.html.  We were to use doodlecharms cartridge, but alias I don't own that one.   I used wedding solutions cartride.  Now we also were to use blue, and I know this is a stretch, but I used diamond stickles for my ring, and it has blue flakes in it.  I know you can't hardly see them, but if you use stickles, you know they are there.   I need a wedding card, what can I say.   I welded the blackout shape of the hearts  and flipped one side so that I could have a shaped card.  (first time I have done this, pretty easy)  Glued the regular heart shape and the ring on the front.   I did this all in my gypsy so I could produce 6 cards at once,  worked great.  Don't know what I would do without my gypsy, I love her.   Oh,  the stamp is also from Emma's set You Had Me At Chocolate.   She is coming out with new stamps on friday, yeah.  Sure they will be great.

MOM's Box and Mini

I had bought a kit from Prima, that was done up by Drew, on scappyhappiness.   I didn't do the mini quite like his, but did learn alot from the ustream he did with the kit.   The mini was canvas and the pages where canvas and clear plastic pockets.   I made this for my Mom for Mother's day, and filled it with some photos she had loose and some extras from my Grandmother's stash of photos.  I ended up with over 30 pictures in it.  Could not believe how many pictures I got in there, but I just kept making pockets and tags.   Was so easy to do.   Thanks for all the ladies(and gentleman) I have learned from along the way.  Used my lindy stamp gang and some tattered angles for glimmer mist.   Had screens from Prima and Tattered angles  for stencil effects.  Tried to do mostly in red color as this is my moms favorite.  Used primarily Prima Paper and emblishments that I had stashed and came in the kit.   Different roses from Prima and a few from I am roses. I paid 35.00 for the kit and still had  some left over, esp since I used some other stuff.   Can't believe how quickly these things can add up the cost.   But my mom is worth it and she loved it.  Thanks for looking.

Lolli flowers

Here are my version of Lolli flowers.   I was watching GoingCriCrazy, video here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5L6m1_js_zo.   I bought 1/4 yard of each fabric.   I made a 8 1/2 x 11 template of just different size circles and then pinned to the fabric and cut out.   I sat and did this while watching you tube, so he went fairly quickly.  I placed each circle largest to smallest and used a brad to hold together, then used my heat gun to warm up.  Each one is a little diffent and you can heat more or less depending on the look.  I bought costume satin at my micheals, think it was like 3.99 a yard.   I got 7 flowers out of each 1/4 yard and still have some left over.  Now someone sent me some fabric that I thought had satin in it, but apparently did not, becuase it would not curl up any, just burned the fabric.  So I think you have to have some Rayon or Satin in the fabric to get it to work.  I ended up with over 80 flower in just 3-4 hour time.   Great for stashing and using when you want something quick.
